The venue, located at 48 Watt Street, is a unique inner city event space that is encapsulated in 110 years of spectacular church history.
Though the building ceased traditional Sunday services in 2010, it maintains many of its original iconic features such as grand vaulted ceilings and fine stained-glass windows, creating a beautiful setting for intimate live performances.
The historic venue recently changed management and is now operating as function venue, community space, and most exciting of all, a live music venue.
Patrick James launched the Live at 48 Watt Street series on September 17 as part of his upcoming solo tour.
The Sydney-based singer-songwriter released his debut album Outlier last last year and used Live at 48 Watt Street to road test new songs that will make up his next release slated for 2017.
Following the release of her critically acclaimed sophomore album Deep Dark Savage Heart, homegrown talent, Melody Pool polished off an Australian tour playing to audiences engrossed by her lyrical prowess and fascinated by her melodic majesty across the country.
She’s now back on the road for a huge string of dates across Australia along with Peter Bibby to bring audiences an evening of music that makes no apologies and tells it like it is.
They’ll perform together at 48 Watt Street on Thursday, October 20.
Henry Wagons rounds out the impressive lineup with a solo performance on Friday, November 4.
Joining Wagons for the Australian jaunt will be the Golden Guitar wielding, all round charmer and talented songsmith in his own right, Lachlan Bryan.
The Examiner has one double pass to give away to the Melody Pool and Peter Bibby show, which starts at 7.30pm on October 20.
To win the pass, valued at $40, send your name and daytime contact details in an email titled “Pool” to portstephens@fairfaxmedia.com.au. The winner will be notified by 5pm on Monday, October 17.
