On the Staring Down The Highway Tour the band has chosen to play a series of medium-sized venues and clubs, giving fans the chance to see them up close and personal at their most intimate shows in years.
It has been a long time between drinks for the trio, whose previous album was the 2011 ARIA-Award-winning The Ending Is Just The Beginning Repeating.
The Living End have been making up for lost time in what has proven to be a busy 2016. They released their seventh studio album Shift in May, sold out a major-city national tour, performed at the 2016 AFL Grand Final and scored nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Australian Live Act at this year’s ARIA Awards.
The Melbourne rockers embarked on their first American tour in eight years in August, including a sold-out show at the Roxy in Los Angeles where Cheney has been based for the past five years to further his solo music career.
To coincide with the tour announce, The Living End today premiered the video for their latest single Staring Down The Barrel. It is the third release from Shift, following on from the barnstorming Monkey and the anthemic Keep on Running, which was the theme song to the Channel 7 AFL Finals campaign.
Staring Down The Barrel, The Living End
Shift became The Living End’s seventh top-10 album in Australia, and the single Keep On Running got them airplay on US radio for the first time since the heady days of Prisoner of Society and Roll On.
The Living End will be supported on tour by triple j faves The Bennies who will bring a whole-new brand of punk-rock energy and exuberance to the stage. Having previously supported punk heavyweights like NOFX AND Rancid, they’re no strangers to playing with punk-rock royalty.
