Their roots tunes are born out of that fine New Orleans tradition of street marching bands but their talents plumb the musical depths, from gospel hymns to traditional Mardi Gras, through jazz, funk and blues.
The band is comprises some well respected and talented musicians from across the Hunter Valley, including Dave Thompson (trumpet/vocals), Paul Isaacs (tenor sax/vocals), Jeremy Borthwick (trombone/vocals), Leigh Sherringham (sousaphone), James “Wah Wah” Wyatt (guitar/vocals) and Dave Tracey (drums).
The roving aspect of the band makes them well suited to outdoor events.
Their infectious grooves are known to get crowds on their feet and strutting the dance floor.
Their credit list includes Newcastle Maritime Festival, Newcastle Jazz Fest, Maitland Taste and Maitland Aroma, as well as RUN Newcastle and Maitland.
Tastes at the Bay is on November 5 and 6.
