As an event that celebrates people’s differences it also aims to include people with a disability.
The event this year runs in conjunction with a Community Connect Day with workshops like sign language and entertainment from Perform Ability among others.
“There are a lot of different cultures in Port Stephens but they’re not always seen,” Fiesta organiser Liz Stephens said.
“We’re celebrating various languages, Auslan (sign language) being one of them.”
Riverside Multicultural Fiesta and Community Connect Day runs from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, Riverside Park, Raymond Terrace.
Perform Ability takes centre stage at 1pm followed by a wheelchair basketball demonstration at 1.45pm.
People will be invited to take part in salsa dancing and African drumming lessons.
