Despite firefighters’ best efforts the cellar door, including kitchen, were extensively damaged.
“Things take time and there are certain procedures to follow with insurance,” Murray’s financial controller Jane Clack said.
“[But] It really needs to be demolished so we can rebuild.
“The cause is yet to be determined but we’re continuing to trade to the best of our abilities.”
The pavilion that was used for dinning is now a makeshift area for pre-packaged beer and wine sales that is set up and pulled down each day.
Meanwhile the green Hop Box – a converted shipping container – previously only used in peak season, has been pressed into use.
The four tap setup allows visitors to sample some of its most well known beers or even buy a growler (jug) to take home and savor. A further four taps will be made available soon.
“We’ve had a lot of community support since the fire and like us they’re shocked but we’re blessed that we’ve been able to continue trading,” Mrs Clack said.
“We were all in shock after the fire. But we’ve got a great, hard working team here.”
Members of the staff have been redeployed into tasks normally outside their realm in the meantime.
“Even with our casuals we’ve been able to find work for them to do, it’s really important to us that we can retain our staff,” Mrs Clack said.
Visitors will soon be able to grab a bite to eat from a temporary kitchen “within two weeks”. And the international visitors have already returned.
Numerous people had functions book at the cellar door including weddings. These have been moved to other venues where possible or deposits refunded.
“People understand that’s it’s been completely out of our control but we’ve been working with them all the same,” Mrs Clack said.
“We’re still holding Christmas functions here.
“If people have any questions about bookings they can contact the brewery.”
The brewery and wine making facilities were not affected by the fire.
