Carolers from across Port Stephens will descend on Fly Point Park in Nelson Bay for the annual Carols at the Bay Christmas celebration on Sunday, December 11th.

The annual Christmas caroling event, now in it’s eighth year, will include traditional carols such as O’ Holy Night, Away in a Manger and We Three Kings, as well as family favourites Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Clause is coming to Town and Aussie Jingle Bells.
The event, run by the combined churches of Tomaree Peninsula, with support from Port Stephens Council and local businesses, is a popular Christmas tradition for many residents, and between two to three thousand people are expected on the night.
Pastor William Brill, from Beachside Christian Fellowship, says the event “gives us a time to put aside our busy lives, come together and be surrounded by family, friends, food and fellowship.”
“Singing is good for the soul”, says Pastor Wayne Forward from Nelson Bay Baptist Church.
“The event is a chance for a moments reflection for the reason for the season, a baby born in a manger who became our saviour.”
Santa Clause will make an appearance on stage, along with community performers, including local school students and singer Anyerin Drury.
The event will conclude with a fireworks display on a barge only 200 metres from the beach.
Carols events in Port Stephens
Karuah:
Longworth Park in Karuah will host the Carols in the Park on Thursday 8th December. The event, starting from 6.30pm, is presented by the Karuah Progress Association.
Entry is $2 for adults and children free.
Anna Bay:
On Wednesday 21st December, Carols Under the Stars will be held at Gateway Family Church in Anna Bay.
Festivities start at 5pm, with live performances from local musicians, face painting, jumping castles and camel rides.
The Carols and Nativity Play is the highlight of the evening, beginning at 7.30pm.
Tanilba Bay:
The grounds of the Tilligerry RSL Sports Club, Tanilba Bay, will be filled with carolers on Saturday 10th December for the Carols on the Lawn event.
The event, starting from 5pm, will feature special guests Gina Jeffreys, Troy Kemp, Tommy Contor and Max Jackson, as well as the students of Tanilba Bay Public School.
Entry is $2.
