Owner and principal Karen Suttie and her passionate team of teachers run classes in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, national character and HSC tuition for kids and adults throughout the year.
The studio is conveniently located in the centre of town and has three air-conditioned rooms with barre and wall mirrors.
Parents can drop off and pick up with ease while they do the shopping or grab a coffee.
Students benefit from access to a range of dance specialists individually qualified in a range of genres including musical theatre, pilates and tap.
There is also extensive opportunities to branch out.
Students can go on tour to Disneyland, take part in workshops with noted choreographers, compete at eisteddfods and do exams.
“Dance is fun, it’s about fitness and it’s a really social thing to do,” Karen said.
“Our teachers understand that students and parents lead busy lives so we are careful to schedule classes that fit in with other actiivities.
“And we’re all fully trained in our genres so we see things from our individual perspectives which can be a real benefit for our students.”
Dance terms run parallel with NSW school terms.
Studio 2324, which has been operating since 1994, also runs adult classes in jazz, tap and ballet - all of a Thursday evening.
Karen started dancing when she was three at Roxanne McCourtie’s School of Ballet at Nelson Bay before adding classes with Tessa Maunder in Newcastle as a teenager.
After completing her grades through to Advanced with legendary Newcastle dance identity Tessa Maunder, Karen gained her Royal Academy Dance Teachers Certificate and Diploma and immediately started teaching.
Studio 2324 will hold an enrolment day on February 4.
