And teams of Amway entrepreneurs, as they like to be known, are headed here from China.

About 8000 Amway delegates will visit Sydney throughout January – around 3000 of which will extend their trip to Port Stephens. 

It’s been a deal a long time in the making.

Moonshadow – TQC Cruises international business specialist Janene Rees first met with AMWAY about two years ago on a mission to China. 

While Business Events Sydney brokered the AMWAY China Leadership Group visit initially, Ms Rees has continued to work closely with AMWAY to secure one of the day trips out of Sydney, which is to Port Stephens.

“Port Stephens is well and truly on the international stage for providing excellent experiences for large business and incentive groups,” she said. 

“This is wonderful news not just for tourism operators but for business in general of Port Stephens.”

The delegates will experience the two ‘must do’ activities in Port Stephens: A dolphin watch cruise in the stunning Port Stephens harbour, with a beautiful buffet lunch; and a thrilling session of sandboarding down the largest moving sand mass in the southern hemisphere on the Worimi Conservation Land Area with Port Stephens 4WD Tours.

At the conclusion of the day they will enjoy a banquet dinner at Wests Diggers Nelson Bay.

The first group of 326 people visited on January 5 for a full day adventure, followed by another seven groups over the coming weeks.  Organisers said guests were thrilled to be out on the water and atop the sand dunes, experiencing something that they have never seen before. 

“The delegates are from all over China, who have reached and exceeded their sales targets and been rewarded with an amazing trip to Australia,” Ms Rees said. 

“We are very privileged that they have chosen Port Stephens as one of their day tour activity as this showcases our region and experiences that are on offer to them.  This also give an opportunity for repeat business from the delegates to bring back their friends and families in the future.”
