Joshua Croker landed the mighty sand whiting in the Under 15 boy’s category over the weekend. It far surpassed even the biggest whiting caught in the adult class (135g).
The event, named after the late Lion Bob Royal, was this year heavily geared toward children.
“He’s simply smashed the adults,” assistant organiser Mike Miles said.
“We had a lot of kids take part which was great to see.”
Proceeds from the registration fees will go toward a children’s playground at Tanilba Bay.
“We’re yet to do the final tally but we estimate we’ve raised over $2000,” Mr Miles said.
Josh’s sisters Jorja and Nikki won first and second respectively in the Under 15 girl’s category.
