Elle produced impressive form to secure herself a wildcard into the women’s pro junior event when she won the wildcard trials held at One Mile Beach last month.
Equally impressive was her younger brother Mikey, who won the wildcard for the under-14 Cadet Cup and also finished fourth in the wildcard trials for the men’s junior pro. He is expected to surf in both events this weekend as Surfest continues.
In the Orica Team Challenge North Narrabeen defended its title downing Merewether (43.45), North Shelley (42.47) and North Steyne (39.44).
Bay Area Boardriders’ two teams were unable to progress past the quarter-finals.
