Newcastle Jets lead Raymond Terrace juniors through soccer drills, sign autographs

Some of football’s youngest but no less enthusiastic fans enjoyed a series of drills with the Newcastle Jets on Thursday.

The children aged about five to 12 worked worked their way through 10 sections working on their dribbling, passing, striking, heading and team play.

Jets: Connect began in the pre-season with sessions at Muswellbrook and Cessnock.

Event coordinator Shaun Fitzgibbon said the program was just in its second year.

“It’s for the children, meeting their idols – representatives in our community,” he said.

“Children learn best when they’re having fun.”
