I think I'm more excited to meet people with the same interests as me.
- Shakaia Tickle
As a dancer, Ms Tickle is no stranger to the spotlight but pageantry was a whole new world. That did not stop the easy going 19 year old from dominating at the championship event.
Miss Tickle returned home from the United States pageant with four medals in the 18 to 24 year old division, three of them gold. Her performance at the world championship also earned her a wildcard into the national final of the Miss Galaxy Australia Pageant, which will be held on the Gold Coast in April. Twenty girls from around Australia will be heading to the Gold Coast for the wee- long competition, which involves photoshoots, group bonding and charity work.
If Ms Tickle wins the competition, she will have the opportunity to attend the international final which will be held in Orlando, Florida.
“I'm so excited,” Ms Tickle said. “I think I'm more excited to meet people with the same interests as me.”
Ms Tickle is now busy completing the criteria she needs in order to be able to attend such as completing community service and raising funds for the pageant's charities - the Make a wish Foundation and Wildlife Warriors. She is selling raffle tickets through Ultimate Dance and Performing Arts, as a way to raise money.
