The six-month-old female puppy was found wandering in Raymond Terrace and taken to Port Stephens Animal Refuge. No one has called to claim her.
Ms Hickie said the nameless pup looks to be a Staffordshire bull terrier crossed with a whippet.
“She’ll grow up to be a leggy staffy,” she said. “She’s nice; a typical friendly puppy.”
Ms Hickie said the pup would be suitable for any family, so long as they had time to train and regularly exercise her.
She will cost $285 to adopt from the refuge. The cost covers registration, desexing, microchipping and a lifetime registration.
