Mullins, who represented Australia outside of club duties with the Raiders and later the Roosters, will join members of the public for a barbecue.
“Men of League is a great welfare organisation for anyone who has been associated with rugby league, whether they were players, coaches, officials or even canteen ladies,” Lakeside licensee Jeremy Cusack said.
“We’re starting it up here in Port Stephens.
“We hope this barbecue will raise the profile of the cause.”
The afternoon starts at 3.30pm.
For $20 people will receive two beverages, a barbecue meal and the chance to chat with past players.
Among the players in attendance will be seven-time St George premiership winning winger John King along with Lower Hunter league stalwarts like Neville Bouys who played 250 first grade matches for the Kurri Kurri Bulldogs before a short stint with Manly Warringah.
Another Bulldog, Eddie Lumsden, St George 1956-66, will also attend.
