The Smith Family coordinated the session that was designed to bring family members closer together.
Awabakal twins Lily and Eliza Gordon signed on to help with the project as students in beauty therapy.
“We did their hair and make up for the photos,” Lily said.
“It was an opportunity for the children to enjoy spending time with their mums doing something a little grown up.”
Eliza said it was especially humbling when one girl said she wanted to study beauty therapy after the experience.
“They really enjoyed it and some of them were surprised with the results,” she said.
“Not a lot of them had been pampered before.”
The sessions were part of the Ready Set Go program.
“Fun is usually the first thing that is lost when times get tough,” project coordinator Danielle Tucker said.
“The whole purpose of this was celebrating family and having fun.”
