Maggie, a 10-month-old female dog, was surrendered to Port Stephens Animal Refuge.
Mary Hickie, owner of the refuge, said Maggie’s family moved away and was unable to take the dog with them. Ms Hickie described Maggie as a “loving girl”.
“She’s energetic,” she said. “She needs company otherwise she gets bored and destructive.”
Maggie would be suitable for a family that did not have small children and one that could dedicate time to training and keeping her out of mischief.
Maggie will cost $285 to adopt from the refuge. The fee covers the cost of vaccinations, desexing, microchipping and a lifetime registration.
