Port Stephens Council is calling on the public to have their say about pedestrian access on the Tomaree Peninsula.

Residents and visitors to the area, especially walkers who use the pathways, are encouraged to take the council’s survey.
“We’re hoping residents and visitors to the Tomaree area will undertake the survey and make comment on specific areas where they would like to see change,” John Maretich, the council’s asset section manager, said.
“From this, council will prioritise future works to meet the needs of the community.”
Walkers are being asked to give feedback on the council’s latest Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan, share their thoughts on the current facilities and the future needs of pedestrians in the area.
The plan will cover Anna Bay, Boat Harbour, Corlette, Fingal Bay, Fishermans Bay, Nelson Bay, One Mile, Salamander Bay, Shoal Bay, Soldiers Point and Taylors Beach.
Mr Maretich said this feedback and survey process will add further detail to the council’s existing strategy around pathways.
“The plan will then be used by council to apply for grant funding from government bodies such as Roads and Maritime Services,” he said.
Hard copies are available from Tomaree library, the Visitor Information Centre and council's administration building in Raymond Terrace.
The survey closes on June 25.
