The Bobs Farm brewery is kicking off American Beer Month on Saturday with an early Independence Day (marked on July 4, or the “fourth of July”) party.
“The fourth of July is a significant national holiday,” brewery owner Murray Howe said.
“And while it’s usually associated with fireworks, parades and baseball games, we’re paying tribute through the release of some truly awesome American-style beers.
“We’re inspired by the unique spirit of creativity and entrepreneurism found in the USA.
“For American Beer Month we have literally brewed a rainbow of American IPAs, plus a sweet milk stout using American hops.
“And we’ll also be celebrating classic American Pale Ales – which was the first beer style we ever brewed.”
From July 1 the distinctive aromas, colours, flavours and sounds of America will be showcased at the brewery and winery, running until August 3.
On offer at Murray’s throughout the month will be eight USA-themed beers, including a red, white and a blue IPA – and even a Blood Orange IPA.
The kitchen team will be serving up an array of USA-themed food specials, such as a an Elvis burger filled with bacon, peanut butter and ‘jelly’ and a mac ‘n cheese pizza.
A number of American-themed concerts will performed each weekend throughout the month.
Michael Muchow will kick off the month, performing American classics from noon on July 2.
Muchow, a Golden Guitar winner from the Central Coast, has strumming his guitar in public since he was 16.

On July 9 it will be Nano sashays Latin American; July 16 Jim Overend performing contemporary American tunes; July 22 Adam Gear goes rockabilly.
Rounding out the month, on July 30, will be Brien McVernon’s American Rock concert.
