POLICE are on the hunt for a man who allegedly robbed and threatened a taxi driver with a knife.

The taxi driver collected the man on Maitland Road, Mayfield, about 6.15pm on July 15, taking him to his destination on Morgan Crescent in Raymond Terrace.
It was there where police say the man produced the knife, held it to the taxi driver’s throat and demanded cash.
The taxi driver complied and gave the man the cash, police said.
“The man was last seen running in a westerly direction along Morgan Street,” a police statement said.
“Police would like to speak to a man depicted in these images who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as being male, aged in his 30s, approximately 177cm tall, of medium build with a beard, and tattoo on the right side of his neck.
