The Mallabula Panthers will take on Shortland Devils in their last home game of the year at Vince Woodman Oval.
The game, in the second last round of the Newcastle Hunter Rugby League season, will also double as the club’s old boys day.
It is the Panther’s second attempt at holding an old boys day. The first one, scheduled earlier in the season, was dampened by rain.
The club is calling on all of its “old boys” to head along to the game on August 12, to stand on Changa Hill for a reunion to “beat all”.
The Panthers are sitting seventh on the NHRL A-grade ladder with seven wins behind them.
Division leaders Dora Creek defeated the “Bula boys” in their last game, on July 29, 30-22.
The Panthers will also have tough competition with Stockton, who are sitting second on the ladder.
Stockton and Mallabula drew 22-22 in their last meeting, on May 27.
Kick off on Saturday is 3pm.
Meanwhile on the Tomaree Peninsula, the Fingal Bay Bomboras will play a charity game against South Newcastle.
The Bomboras, sitting third on the A-grade ladder, will run onto Fingal Bay Oval wearing special jerseys for the day.
Proceeds raised will be donated to Port Stephens Women’s Cancer Support Group.
One of Saturday’s game jerseys will be framed and auctioned off.
There will be a barbecue and raffles on the day. All ladies who attend will receive a glass of pink bubbles.
Kick off is 3pm.
At Lakeside Oval, Raymond Terrace Magpies will face the Clarence Town Cobras.
The Magpies are sitting seventh on the D-grade ladder with three wins this season, three rungs below the fourth placed Cobras.
Kick off is 3pm.
The Karuah Roos, sitting third in the D-grade ladder behind Glendale and Cardiff, will face Maitland United on Saturday.
Karuah, with nine wins this season, go into Saturday’s game as favourites. Maitland are sitting eighth on the D-grade ladder.
The game will be played at Lionel Morten Oval in Karuah. Kick off is 2.30pm.
