The discount grocery and retail store, located in Port Stephens Street, closed at 5pm on Monday, September 4 and reopen on Wednesday, September 13 with a fresh new look.
An ALDI Australia spokesperson said the improvements were part of a state-wide rollout of store upgrades.
“While we’re delighted to be introducing these innovations, we want our customers to know they won’t lead to higher prices,” the spokesperson said.
“ALDI is committed to offering high quality products at unbeatable value, and this will not change as a result of these upgrades.”
Fences went up around the car park of the store on Monday and tradesmen were on site carrying out the refurbishment.
New store features will include redesigned shelving, expanded wooden produce bays, as well as extended energy efficient chillers.
The store will be fitted with energy efficient LED lighting.
There will also be new point-of-sale displays and store signage.
“The Raymond Terrace community has come to love the ALDI shopping experience,” the ALDI spokesperson said.
“We’re excited to be undertaking these upgrades and welcome the community to visit our new store from Wednesday, September 13 and share their feedback about the store experience.”
ALDI Raymond Terrace is staffed by a team of up to 20 permanent full and part-time employees.
The only other ALDI located within Port Stephens is inside Salamander Bay Square.
The next closest ALDI is in East Maitland or Mayfield, near Newcastle.
Once the store reopens, its trading hours will continue to be 8:30am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am-7pm Saturday and Sunday.
