The feminist movement of the past has called men “male chauvinist pigs".

This may be brutal but it is still relevant in today’s society.

They and their descendant sons still exist in our society and they are the largest perpetrators of ignorance and domestic violence.

There are many men running for council election but where do they stand on the subject of domestic violence and male chauvinism?

 Do they agree with the equality of genders and the Australian Anti-Discrimination Act or not?

Nothing has been said to date so therefore I assume they agree with male supremacy and male elitism.

Therefore I have no hesitation in recommending any female candidate for the role or councillor or mayor of your choice.

That is unless all male candidates can convince us that they agree with the equality and fairness as per our national anthem Advance Australia Fair, the Anti-Discrimination Act and workplace codes of conduct.

Please choose wisely as always and exert your freedom of choice at the next council election. The choice is yours entirely.

My kids and I attended a beautifully presented wedding reception at The Anchorage, Corlette recently.

My eldest daughter is vegan. The only reason the staff knew this was when my daughter asked if one of the canapes were vegan.  That's it.  

From that one simple question, the staff put together a wonderful vegan entree, dinner, and dessert.

Completely unexpected, and very much appreciated.  

All of the staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful throughout the night.  

Thank you to all of the staff at The Anchorage. Well done.

I recently received from our Climate Council the following similarities between Australia and California.

"Both home to sand surf and sun, have similar vulnerabilities to climate change both are rich in energy resources and we use about the same amount of electricity.

“But that's where the similarities end. Californian communities and industries are embracing their renewable energy future with optimism.

“But Australia has an advantage over California, we are the sunniest country in the world with enough renewable energy to power our economy 500 time over.

“The trouble is we are not using it. Australia has so many opportunities to be a world leader in renewable energy but is sadly lacking the political will."

It seems that the next Federal election is the ballot that can begin to change this.

It is late, very late but perhaps it's not yet  too late to make the difference?

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the gentlemen who recovered my wallet and contents and handed it to the Pet Barn in Salamander Bay.

You went to a lot of trouble after you saw someone throw my wallet out of their car window, not only retrieving it but also picking up all of the cards and licences etc.

I would also like to thank the kind lady at the Pet Barn who contacted me very soon after also saving me an incredible amount of heartache.

I feel very fortunate to live among residents like you.

I hope I can return the favour one day.
