NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres announced the funds on Wednesday.
“Community sports organisations like Raymond Terrace Soccer are key to the health and happiness of young people right across NSW but equipment and upkeep are not cheap so when the government is able to step in and help everyone wins,” he said.
“The Liberal National NSW Government has a history of strong economic management which means sport clubs across the state can reap the benefits.”
Port Stephens Duty MLC Catherine Cusack said any financial help that keeps regional communities active is a fantastic thing.
“Assistance like what we have seen Raymond Terrace Soccer Club receive today and NSW Government initiatives like the $100 Active Kids Voucher help clubs survive and drives participation in sport,” Ms Cusack said.
Club President Peter Petryk was pleased to see the government focused on regional community sport.
“For a club of our size there is a lot of wear and tear on our fields and it can be hard to find those extra funds for things like line markers – we are really grateful for the NSW Governments assistance with this grant,” he said.
