Ladies impacted by the drought will be treated like queens at free CWA events in February. Paterson CWA has kindly donated funding for the Werris Creek CWA to run morning teas with all the fixings for those battling through the big dry. The first will be held at the Currabubula Pub and Cafe on February 5, and the second at Werris Creek Pharmacy on February 29. "In their good kindness they sent us funds to treat the ladies of Currabubula and Werris Creek, and not just farmers, but anyone who's been going through the drought, to something special," Ms O'Brien said. "Werris Creek CWA isn't a very financial branch, Quirindi has been inundated with money during the drought period but we haven't, so to receive money from anywhere was a miracle." Ms O'Brien said it offered country women the "chance to sit down, relax, and, at least for a moment, have fun together". Spaces are limited and interested ladies need to RSVP by January 29.
