Known around town as one of the most prestigious business awards in the Port, the awards have been up and running for more than 10 years.
Examiner general manager Michael Wright said last year more than 13,500 nominations flowed in and he hoped for more this year.
‘‘For years, Port Stephens residents have shown continuously how passionate, loyal and territorial they are in regards to the places they do business in their community,’’ he said.
‘‘The Annual Business Awards are great recognition not only for businesses but also for the community as it’s the one event that everyone can get involved in and follow through right to the end.’’
A record 535 people attended the awards ceremony last year and it is expected to be bigger and better this year. Voting for this year’s awards starts on Thursday, June 13 and closes on Friday, July 12. To vote, fill out the form published in next week’s Examiner or via the website
A gala dinner and awards presentation will be at Diggers Nelson Bay on Wednesday, September 4. Pictures of last year’s event are on the website
