The second annual Red Cross Big Cake Bake invites people to bake their favourite cakes, slices or biscuits with all money raised from the sweet treats going straight to the Red Cross.
‘‘The money will go to supporting victims of natural disasters and other people that need help wherever Red Cross feel it is needed,’’ president of the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Red Cross Jennifer Wenham said.
Anyone interested in cooking for the event can deliver baked goods, with a list of ingredients attached, to the markets at Myall Quays this Saturday from 8am. Mrs Wenham said last year’s event was so popular that all sweets were sold by 11am. While the cake stall saw $600 raised for Red Cross and Mrs Wenham said if more people baked for the event this year they could surpass that amount.
