Mr Clarke, from Fingal Bay, said his fifth book, Fish Port Stephens, was a must-read for anyone considering dropping a line anywhere between Stockton Beach and Broughton Island.
"This book is a celebration of my 25 years writing a column in the Examiner," Mr Clarke said.
"It is autobiographical, too. It has my personal history in it, growing up and fishing in the early days."
Mr Clarke said the book took relevant parts from his first, Something Fishy, printed 15 years ago, and combined it with new material, including past Examiner columns.
It highlighted methods used now by the "new generation of recreational fishers" and GPS locations of the most popular offshore fishing spots were included.
Some of those new generation fishermen, specifically Paul Lennon and Brent Hancock, helped Mr Clarke piece together the book.
"I had significant contribution from the younger fishermen of the area," Mr Clarke said. "This book champions young, new age fishermen."
Mr Clarke extended an open invitation to those who enjoy reading his Something Fishy column in the Examiner to the Fish Port Stephens book launch on Friday, November 14.
Past Examiner editor Keith Campbell will launch the book from 2pm at Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club with ABC Radio's Scott Levi to emcee.
Mr Clarke's books are available in newsagencies and selected stores.
