Is your park next to go?

IF YOU think for one minute that this council will stop at the reclassification and sell off part of Boomerang Park at Raymond Terrace for housing, well think again.

This is about the sale of a public park and will set a precedent for land grabs everywhere.

The emotive argument of seniors housing is being dragged out yet again, yet I understand there are many other sites which could be used for this purpose with good access to public transport.

This concerns everyone and objections should come from far and wide, not only from the brave Tidy Towns committee who have spoken up [Examiner, November 20].

Your local park could be next.

It all sounds great to plough the proceeds back into improving this hot and dry park but not when existing playgrounds, roads, drains and basic maintenance are crying out for attention.
