I FULLY support the work of the NSW Men's Shed Association and the men at the Raymond Terrace Men's Shed. I appreciate that the men of Raymond Terrace deserve a more appropriate building but the proposed new $663,000, seven-metre high and nearly 1200-square-metre building, surrounded by a 2.1-metre high fence in Boomerang Park is totally excessive and inappropriate. Again the pro-development councillors have given the OK for a development which is not in keeping with the proposed location and without further community consultation as requested by three councillors. Raymond Terrace men do need a new shed but do they really need what is effectively a factory-size shed? If they do it should be built in an industrial area not in Boomerang Park. Any new shed should be in an appropriate area for a building of this kind. Les Pinney Lemon Tree Passage
