Ms Greedy’s oil on linen painting Freak Out, one from a series that was exhibited at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, was accepted for the prestigious Whyalla Art Prize.
While she did not win the $25,000 prize, Ms Greedy received an honourable mention and her painting was selected as a finalist for an Adelaide Festival Centre show.
“I was thrilled to be selected [for the art prize],” Ms Greedy said.
“To be further selected for the Adelaide exhibition is wonderful. It’s very encouraging.”
Freak Out will be on display in Adelaide alongside 18 other highly commended pieces from around the country across the summer holiday period.
Eleanor Scicchitano, from Country Arts South Australia, said the exhibit of Whyalla Art Prize pieces was a showcase of high quality artworks.
