The prestigious event attracts hundreds of people of all ages from surf lifesaving clubs across Australia, this year coming together in Forster on the September 29 to 30 weekend.
Master competitor Mark Watson and his three children, Mike Clayton Brown, 9, Elle Clayton Brown, 10, and Helena Broughton, 13, each competed over the weekend, representing the Fingal Bay SLSC.
"It's a real family affair," Watson said.
"It was Helena's first ever carnival - Mike and Elle have been doing it for a while - but it was just spectacular."
Watson placed first in three of his four events, just missing out on the overall weekend championship title by two points.
Mike competed in five events, which earned him 15 points to go towards the club's total 72 points, placing them 15th from 43 clubs who competed.
Following in his fathers' ironman champion footsteps, Mike placed first in the endurance ironman event, earning him the title of under-10 ironman champion.
The next event Mike, Elle and Helena are preparing for is the East Coast Junior Surf Series at Stockton in two weeks.
