Port Stephens Council will improve the surface of the boat ramp to begin with and will close the facility for three to four weeks to complete the work.
Once the ramp is reopened council will begin work on a canoe launch and “formalise” the car park at Torrence Street.
The cost of the project is estimated at $300,000 and has been jointly funded by Port Stephens Council and Transport NSW’s Boating Now Program.
The council apologised for any inconvenience these works may cause.
