According to the Bureau of Meteorology, those in the Nelson Bay area on October 6 enjoyed top temperatures of 25 degrees.
Fingal and Shoal Bay beaches were well attended by people enjoying water activities like swimming, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.
The Shoal Bay jetty was also a hot spot of activity, as were reserves near the water in Corlette, Salamander Bay and Soldiers Point.
The BOM predicts temperatures in Nelson Bay will hit a top of 28 degrees on Friday, dip down to 22 and 24 degrees on the weekend – presenting some light showers on Saturday and light winds on Sunday – then rise dramatically to 31 degrees on Monday.
