We lined up along the sand and tossed out worm baits, kindly donated by Duffs Tackle. Whamo! The action was fierce. The team of four-year-olds caught whiting, flathead and a flounder. All fish were released.
“Kids don’t need to catch big fish to have big fun”
- old Stinker saying.
All the jetties from Shoal Bay to Karuah are accessible, safe and loaded with fish. Garfish, whiting, flathead, flounder, squid and bream have all been reported caught off jetties this week. Boating with the kids inside the port is a must with trumpeter whiting waiting your arrival off Taylors Beach. Mean mud crabs and blue swimmer crabs are still busy, while there is always a chance to land a flathead or bream. Best results are expected west of Soldiers Point.
Enjoy your holiday, stay safe and don’t forget the life jackets.
