The ensemble is holding one of its two annual concerts in Salamander Bay on June 24.
“The choir performs two major concerts throughout the year, and also performs for other events in the Port Stephens region,” Port Harmony president Joanna Davies said.
“The concert is entitled Let me tell you ‘bout the….
“It is a somewhat suggestive yet irresistible theme of whimsical, scintillating and comical songs that celebrate our natural world.
“The songs that have been chosen will be sure to leave you buzzing with excitement.”
The concert is part of Naturefest – a program of events that celebrate the Port’s natural assets.
Kathryn Dries, who has been the group’s musical director since it was founded in 2010, will sing during the Salamander Bay concert.
Davies said Dries’ passion for the choir, her “commitment to perfection” and experience in providing professional vocal tuition to members was what made her a valuable asset to Port Harmony.
Dries, from Newcastle, has had a career in performance that spans nearly 25 years and has a CONDA Award to her name.
She has performed throughout Australia and Europe.
In addition to leading the Port Stephens choir Dries teaches singing and piano to 30 students.
Also performing as part of the Salamander Bay concert is talented soprano Kathleen Moore.
Accompaniment will be provided by Newcastle pianist Michael Power.
Twenty-five members of Port Harmony will sing on the day.
The not-for-profit Port Stephens choir is based in Soldiers Point.
The Port Harmony concert will be staged at the Uniting Church in Salamander Bay from 2pm on Saturday, June 24.
Tickets cost $25 per person and are available from eventbrite.com.au or Black Pepper at Salamander Bay Shopping Centre.
