These ranged from $123 for school canteen safety checks, up to $2000 to help preserve the old Bettles Park Sabre Jet.
The deputy mayor Chris Doohan made special mention of the thousands of volunteer hours that went into the jet’s restoration at Williamtown Fighter World.
“I was lucky enough to be there the day it was unveiled,” he said.
“They’ve done a marvelous job. But if we leave like that it will eventually look like it did at Bettles Park.”
Cr Doohan put $1000 of Central Ward funds towards the jet, as did Bruce MacKenzie through the Mayoral Funds.
Cr Doohan said the money would help apply a protective coating to the airframe.
“It will help in the meantime and hopeful we can put a canopy over it in the future,” he said.
Other donations included $1000 for the Anna Bay Scouts to visit Norfolk Island and $500 to Seaham Netball Club.
