Raymond Terrace Fire and Rescue crew prepare for Santa's annual Christmas lolly run

Raymond Terrace residents prepare – Santa Claus is coming to town.

Helped by Fire and Rescue NSW Raymond Terrace, Santa is set to make his annual visit to the town on Saturday, December 23.

The jolly man in red will be escorted by fire truck to nine locations in the Terrace between 9am and 1pm, giving children and the young at heart a chance to say hello to Santa and snap a picture with him.

As is tradition, Santa will also be handing out lollies.

FRNSW Raymond Terrace captain Dennis Peters said helping Santa on his lolly run was one of the unit's favourite times of year.

“This has been a tradition in Raymond Terrace for generations,” he said. “Kids have grown up with it and now their children wait for it. This is something that brings the community together. We know Santa loves it.”

The lolly run has been happening in the Terrace for about 60 years.

Mr Peters thanked businesses within the community who have supported the lolly run during that time, including this year.

Santa, the FRNSW Raymond Terrace fire truck and firefighters will begin the run in Bettles Park. They will move to a new location approximately every 30 minutes.

From the Adelaide Street park, Santa will move to Boomerang Park (near the water tower), Kia Ora Park, Riverside Park, Brown Street Park, the bus bay at Irrawang High School, Lakeside Park (near the skate park) then Gwen parade Park. He will end his run at Kitty Hawk Park on Dawson Road.
