The festive season is here and with it the Port’s pubs and clubs are offering patrons a wide range of free gigs throughout the rest of December.

Soldiers Point Bowling Club offer patrons free music each Friday and Saturday night. Across town in Nelson Bay, the bowling club has free live music in the lounge from 7pm each Friday.
Tim Harding, who covers acts such as Bill Withers, Diesel, Ed Sheeran, Nirvana, Crowded House and The Beatles, will have the entertaining reigns at the Soldiers Point club this Friday from 7pm.
The Snape Bros take over at 7.30pm on Saturday. The trio of brothers, Mick, Chris and Russell, have been performing on the Hunter’s music scene since the early 1980s. Country, rock, disco or any other genre – the Snape Bros do it well.
On Friday, December 22 Jim Overend will perform. Experienced rock ‘n’ roll outfit Silverhair will back up Overend’s show on Saturday, December 23.
Emile, who has in the music industry for more than 30 years, is set to entertain on Friday, December 29. Port Stephens band the Blue Suede Boppers will perform the club’s final show of 2017 on Saturday, December 30 from 7.30pm. The Boppers offer patrons a “retro rock ‘n’ roll feast” that captures the essence of the 50's and 60's.
Allan Freihaut will be offering a selection of country tunes, blues, rock and easy listening at Nelson Bay Bowling Club this Friday.
The following Friday, December 22, Ron Knight will be in the spotlight and the week after that, on December 29, will be Sami. The young singer is an up-and-comer on the country music scene.
