There will be plenty of live performances to choose right across the Port from this weekend, but particularly in the holiday hot spot of Nelson Bay and its surrounding suburbs.
Shoal Bay Country Club offers free live music each Saturday, from 1pm until late.
This Saturday, January 20, Australian pub rock band The Radiators will be performing a live show in the club’s main room from 9pm. More on The Radiators here.
Throughout the day there will be music by the Marty Bourke Duo, DJ Junior, Wacko Jacko and Nano.
Across the Tomaree Peninsula to the Seabreeze Hotel, musicians will be performing live and free in the Nelson Bay hotel between Friday and Sunday.
Rock band Shivoo has the stage from 8.30pm on Friday.
DJs Nick Skitz and Kidd Koas will provide music in the hotel from 8.30pm on Saturday.
From 3pm on Sunday it will be Lennie Live and the Sunday Soul Sessions entertaining.
At d’Albora Marina in Nelson Bay there is a variety of children’s holiday activities on offer.
For the adults, there is live music.
Between 5pm and 8pm on Friday, Tyler John will be performing on the marina’s public stage.
Since he was 7 years old the singer-songwriter from Newcastle has been busking and honing his skills with the guitar and loop pedal, progressively training his vocals to create his own fusion of folk, pop and RnB sounds in both his original music and cover performances.
John’s gig will be in addition to the Sacred Tree Markets which will be set up along the Nelson Bay Foreshore, near the marina.
Mardy Leith will take to the marina’s stage from 11am on Sunday.
The Newcastle musician is well known on the area’s music scene, and plays a variety of covers from the 60's to now.
Down the road at Bobs Farm, Murray’s Brewery host musicians on weekends.
From 12.30pm on Saturday indie rock soloist Amy Fredes will be performing.
From noon on Sunday it will be Pete Gelzinnis.
Gelzinnis uses an acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica, loop machine and stomp box to create an upbeat dance vibe in his sets.
