Lead singer Rai Thistlethwayte, bassist Phil Stack and guitarist Matt Smith played all their hits, plus a few songs that have never made it into their live shows, and had attendees to the Shoal Bay gig singing and dancing along.
Saturday’s show was part of Thirsty Merc’s Take Me Back anniversary tour marking 15 years in the business.
“It’s thanks to the fans that we’re still here, loving life and music, 15 years later,” Thistlethwayte said.
“This tour is a big thank you to everyone who’s sung along with us over the years, as well as a great opportunity to dust off some songs we’ve never included in our shows.”
Shoal Bay Country Club has live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Spy v Spy will perform a free show at the club on April 7, Hurricane Fall on April 14 and Mental As Anything on April 28.
