Some of the Port’s favourite venues among mums and dads have opted to tailor their entertainment to the whole family.
Shoal Bay Country Club has a full schedule of entertainment for the little ones that is anything but pint-sized or boring.
Some of the entertainment on offer from 10am until noon each day includes games, kids trivia, magic shows, karaoke, face painting, sand art, jumping castle, and pass the parcel.
A games day with jumping castle, face painting, pool, musical chairs, running games and pass the parcel will be held on April 17 and April 24.
There will even be a petting zoo from Oakvale Farm (April 14, April 21 and April 28) as well as a Katy Perry and Taylor Swift tribute show (April 20).
Bookings are not required, but parental supervision is.
Down the road at Fingal Bay Sports Club there’s more family entertainment on offer.
This includes a free afternoon show by Pistol Pete on Sunday, April 15 from 3pm until 6pm.
Disco Diva will pack the dance floor on the following Sunday, April 22 from 5pm until 7pm with a free disco event, with songs guaranteed to get the children grooving.
Port Stephens Libraries – in Salamander Bay and Raymond Terrace – will have a number of school holiday programs running between April 18 and April 27.
Youths in the area are being encouraged to get involved with Tomaree Youth Community Action’s skate and scooter competition in Nelson Bay on Sunday, April 15.
Part of the NSW Youth Week offerings in Port Stephens, the skate and scooter competition is open to all youths. Entries cost $2 per person.
TYCA have secured thousands of dollars worth of prizes for the competition, which will begin at Fly Point skatepark at 9.30am.
Also part of Youth Week, on Sunday, April 22 music and art workshops will be held at Medowie Skarepark, between 11am and 2pm.
Grahamstown Sailing and Aquatic Club will hold come and try sailing days, facilitated by Sailability NSW, on April 17, 18 and 19.
The cost is $45 per person or $65 for a family of three ($10 per person extra in the family).
