The songs and sounds of one of the most popular bands in the world, The Eagles, will land in Soldiers Point next month.
Desperado – The Eagles Show, a tribute to the Los Angeles-born 70s rock band, will hit the Soldiers Point Bowling Club stage on Saturday, May 5.
Brendan Tinker (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Ross Russo (guitar, vocals), Jason Rodziewicz (drums, vocals), Mark Anthony (lead vocals, guitar), Trevor Walsh (bass, vocals) and Vernon Aliberti (keyboards) formed the tribute band to fill the void left by The Eagles when they disbanded in 1980.
Together the group celebrate and faithfully reproduce the music of, arguably, one of the best bands of all time, culminating into a show to be remembered.
“We get a real buzz with the strong audience reaction we get show after show,” Anthony said. “When the audience sing along to songs like Heartache Tonight and Hotel California we can feel the adrenaline rush.”
Despite The Eagles reuniting in 1994 for the album Hell Freezes Over, releasing their first full studio album in 28 years, Long Road Out of Eden, in 2007 and touring extensively from 2013, Desperado has continued to entertain audiences with an authentic show featuring all of the biggest hits to come from the American band.
As seasoned musicians, Desperado pay attention to detail to produce the exact guitar sounds you would expect when you listen to an Eagles song. The six-piece group authentically recreates the sound from The Eagles’ 90s tour.
Audiences will hear hits such as Tequila Sunrise, New Kid In Town, Take It Easy, Best of My Love, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Lyin’ Eyes, Heartache Tonight, The Long Run and Love Will Keep Us Alive.
They also perform hits from The Eagles’ most recent album, Long Road Out of Eden.
“With three good lead vocalists you can shut your eyes and believe you are listening to the real thing,” Anthony said.
Desperado has won two Mo Awards for the Best Tribute Show. The six-piece group has also won two ACE Awards for Best Tribute Band.
