The club won the district final against Lambton Park 45-25 in May to claim the pennant flag but were beaten by Hunter River in a tight contest 42-41 in the regional playoffs.
The winning team was joined by district executives and other bowlers at Fingal Bay Sport and Recreation Club on Tuesday, June 12 to unfurl the pennant flag.
It is eighth flag won in the club’s 29 year history. The women last won a pennant – the same grade three district flag – in 2016.
Before that, the club had not won one in 16 years.
President Joan McLeod said she was happy with how the team of eight women, including herself, performed this year.
Fingal’s pennant winning team included Ann Ible, Helen Brunt, Kerry McFadden, Claudia Perrine, Cheryl Johnstone, Joan McLeod, Loretta Halpin and Margaret Gallagher.
