A man was beaten with a baseball bat in a violent home invasion in Raymond Terrace overnight.

About 9.25pm Sunday a 40-year-old man was in the lounge room of his Tathra Street home when he heard a knock at the door.
He opened the door, when two women and five men forced their way into the home.
A fight broke out and the 40-year-old man was assaulted with a baseball bat.
The man was treated at the scene for cuts to his head and arm. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital for further medical checks.
A seven-year-old boy and his 35–year-old mother were in the house at the time of the invasion, but were not injured.
Computer equipment and a set of keys were taken during the incident.
