The off-field success of the charity round, which supported Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and Riding for the Disabled, softened the on-field blow of seeing all three Terrace teams, Magpies A-grade and Norths plus Ravens ladies tag team, lose their final home games of the season.
The Ravens have slipped to fifth on the ladder after losing 28-10 to league leaders Aberglassyn. This weekend the Ravens face University of Newcastle.
In the second game of the day, the Magpies North team lost to Stroud 46-4.
It was a closer contest in A-grade where the Magpies were downed by Stockton 46-44. Captain coach Brooke Roach led the way in the second half with two tries.
Wingers Luke Perry and Brendon McIntosh plus hooker PJ Ellis had good games.
The Magpies must win their game against the top of the table Shortland team on Saturday by at least 24 points to play in the semi-final.
