Located in the old fire station in Lemon Tree Passage, it has become one of many focal points when visiting the area.
In the near future, the TAG gallery will be undergoing an updated facade, which is funded by a regional grant from the state government, giving the building a bright and eye-catching presentation.
The gallery changes its displays every two months showcasing a new artist and artisan.
Currently displayed are works based on the theme ‘Water’.
The featured artists are Daad Ruelle, a renowned and creative ceramic artist, and Marcia Wakeman, a surrealistic, mixed media artist.
Both artists have exceptional, experimental approaches within their art practice.
TAG has also developed a workshop program over the last year and in the next few months, with the support of a cultural grant by the Port Stephens Council, it will be running a variety of ‘Art Escape’ workshops open to the public.
These artistic experiences are created and run by talented local and regional artists.
If you wish to register contact Marcia, the TAG workshop coordinator, at marcia.wakeman@gmail.com or register at the gallery at 13 Meredith Avenue Lemon Tree Passage.
In April next year, renowned, high profile artist, Annette Simpson will be conducting a printmaking workshop. Registrations will open in 2019.
TAG always welcomes new members to join the group and if you are in the area drop in and say hello.
You will not be disappointed by the plethora of creative crafts and artworks this gallery has to offer.
