The event will be held near the site of the land that the group has been advocating to return to public ownership since it was sold by the state government to a developer in 2016.
From 11am, members of the group will unite at 109 Foreshore Drive, Salamander Bay.
Members of the community are invited to attend.
The event will give residents a chance to learn the latest in the fight to put the Mambo Wetlands parcel of land back in public ownership.
The event will include a barbecue, sausage sizzle and music by Chowder Keg.

LJ Hooker charity dinner
LJ Hooker Nelson Bay believes the real estate business is not just about houses – it is about community.
That is why it has banded together with Saltwater Restaurant at Fingal Bay to hold a spring charity dinner and raise much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
The charity dinner is being held on Saturday. All tickets have now sold out.
The goal is to raise $10,000 to share between Cystic Fibrosis and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, which provides much need equipment for kids in hospital.
LJ Hooker have chosen to share the funds raised between Narromine hospital in drought affected NSW and John Hunter to help local kids.
Friends with Dignity
Friends with Dignity is a national not-for-profit organisation that support victims of domestic violence to rebuild their lives with purpose, dignity and hope.
The organisation was established in 2015. In 2018, it won the Australian charity of the year award.
Port Stephens is home to a Friends with Dignity volunteer branch.
The dedicated team of volunteers work with registered community agencies, such as the Yacaaba Centre, to turn households into welcoming sanctuaries for families escaping domestic violence through, monetary donations and household items.
Friends with Dignity has two major fundraising functions each year: a charity golf day in May and a charity high team in September.
The high tea this year is set to be held on September 21 at Nigronis in Nelson Bay. Starting from 11am, tickets cost $55 (must be bought from the venue by September 14).
All are welcome.
Big weekend at Anna Bay Tavern
Anna Bay Tavern, in partnership with Ford Heaven, will host a Show and Shine on Sunday.
Starting at 10am and running until 2pm, money raised will be donated to Anna Bay Rural Fire Service.
The RFS will also have a display.
Prize categories include: best in show, kids choice and RFS choice.
The cost to show a vehicle is $10. Pre-registering is a must, to: frdhvn@gmail.com.
Admission is free. There will be a barbecue.
The tavern will also host an Ales for Bales event on Saturday from 2pm.
Head to the tavern for an afternoon of live music, cold beer and raffles.
All money raised will be donated to drought stricken farmers.
