Children can be attracted to any toys left floating in a pool or on the edge and they even pose a danger when playing with them.
The design of some toys means that children can get caught in them or risk flipping upside down while playing with them around their waist.
Children with floaties or noodles may be a lot more confident and competent in the pool but that doesn’t mean that supervision should lapse.
Keeping watch at all times is vital but there are also a few steps to take to make sure your child is playing with the right toy for them.
- Check the age and weight range of toys before purchasing and make sure they suit your child
- Deflate inflatable pool toys when they’re not in use and check them for leaks before use
- Securely store all pool toys and other non-essentail equipment out of sight and reach of children
- Never leave pool toys in the pool when not in use
