The controversial draft published earlier this year proposed a more than doubling of height limits to allow 10-storey buildings throughout the town centre.
TRRA president Geoff Washington believes the council has received many submissions objecting to major height increases.
“We will soon see how council has responded to these submissions,” he said.
Given the significance of this issue and the high level of public interest, the TRRA said that it was unacceptable for the community to have less than a week to digest and form a view on what will undoubtedly be lengthy and complex documents.
A council spokesperson said that council agendas go live on the website on Thursday morning prior to a Tuesday night meeting.
The TRRA has called on council to defer formal consideration to allow for a longer period for public consideration and reaction.
