We have always had a real love for animals. Animals just always bring love to everybody.
- Teresa Williams, Williams Pet Produce
“We have always had a real love for animals,” said Teresa Williams who, with husband Paul and children Hannah and Matthew, operates the newly opened Williams Pet Produce. “Animals just always bring love to everybody.”
Combining their love of animals with their business experience was how Williams Pet Produce was born.
“We’ve always had different businesses, but pet produce is something in particular which we have always wanted to do,” Mrs Williams said. “The time was right and so we decided to go ahead and do it.”
Operating from their family property since late June this year, the pet produce business offers feed for birds, poultry, dog, cats, horse, cattle and pigs.
If you have an animal, they can help you feed it!
There is also a small range of accessories for fish, dogs, cats and birds.
“We also supply customers with poultry feeders, nesting boxes and rabbit hutches,” she said. “And if a customer came in and wanted a certain cage or fish tank, or an accessory or particular food – I am happy to try and get that in for them.
“If we haven’t got want they want, we’ll try and source it for our customer.”
Having a lengthy background in business, Mrs Williams said their philosophy is simple, yet genuine: the customer really does come first. And the family is already seeing the results.
“Customers are coming from all over the place and we already have repeat business,” she said.
The benefit of living and working on the same property is that you can assist customers when they need it.
“We live on the property and are quiet happy to open the gates for customers,” Mrs Williams said. “We are open by appointment on Sundays and find people come to us when no one else is open. If a customer needs something, they can ring us and arrange a time to open the gates.”
In fact, so accommodating is Mrs Williams that she’s been known to jump out of bed, still in her jammies and with slippers on, to serve customers who called.
“That’s what we’re all about, we’re here to help,” she said.
